Beginners Food Growing Workshop

  • YOUNG GROWERS CLUB 22 Welbury Avenue Luton, England, LU3 2DZ United Kingdom (map)

Join Laura from Young Growers Club for a series of family friendly and adult only workshops to help you start on your food growing journey.

These interactive workshops, which include options to bring your kids along, will cover everything from where to grow, what to grow and how to grow as well as key topics such as companion planting, succession sowing and composting.

Each participant will be encouraged to complete a pre-workshop questionnaire so Laura can tailor the workshops to ensure attendees come away with the confidence and skills they need to give food growing a try at home.

The workshop series will contain:

- 3 week weekday course aimed at parents who home educate or who have younger children. Parents will be able to bring their kids along and Laura will set up activities for them to do whilst the parents learn. The course will run for a few weeks. Tuesday 8th, 15th and 22nd October.

- 3 week weekend course aimed at parents who are unable to find childcare. Parents will be able to bring their kids along and Laura will set up activities for them to do whilst the parents learn. The course will run for a few weeks. Saturday 12th, 19th and 26th October.

- Adults only day course. This day course will run during the week or at the weekend and will be an opportunity to do the whole course in one session. Tuesday 5th or Saturday 9th November from 10am - 2pm.

Tickets for the adults only day course cost £40 and can be booked here.

Tickets for the family friendly workshop cost £15 per session (£45 all together) and can be booked here.

The event will be held in Luton (Warden Hill area). The exact event location will be given nearer to the time as it will be weather dependent.

No experience is required and all resources will be provided. Those attending the full day course will be required to bring lunch.

Children's activities will vary but may include colouring, crafting and of course, some digging.
