Are you a family and/or beginner gardener in Luton wanting to learn to grow your own food?
Join Laura from Young Growers Club for a 3-week family friendly course to help you start on your food growing journey this spring.
The interactive workshops, which allow you to bring your kids along, will cover everything from where to grow, what to grow and how to grow as well as key topics such as companion planting, succession sowing and composting.
The course, which runs for 3 weeks, is aimed at parents who home educate or who have younger children. Parents will be able to bring their kids along and Laura will set up activities for them to do whilst the parents learn.
Dates & times for the course are:
Monday 24th February: 10am - 11:30am.
Monday 3rd March: 10am - 11:30am
Monday 10th March: 10am - 11:30am
The course is £60 and this includes all resources and a food growing kit. For those that book in January you can get 15% off the ticket price.
Each participant will be encouraged to complete a pre-course questionnaire so Laura can tailor the sessions to ensure attendees come away with the confidence and skills they need to give food growing a try at home.
No gardening experience is required!
This course will be held at St Augustine's Church Hall in Luton. The course will be inside with some practical tasks being done outside in the community garden.
Children's activities will vary but may include colouring, crafting and of course, some digging.
