I started my journey with growing food back in 2017 after my beloved son Arlo passed away.  During this time of healing I found solitude in the garden.  I loved getting my hands dirty, connecting with the earth and watching things grow.  Food growing changed my life and the arrival of my son in 2018 only made it more exciting.

During the next few years I expanded my food growing area in the garden and studied practical horticulture with the RHS. As soon as my son could walk he was outside in the garden with me. He’s absolutely loved learning how to sow seeds, prune trees, weed, make compost, look after the wildlife and harvest and cook our produce.

It’s a journey that I’ve been very passionate about sharing with others but have lost count of the amount of people that have said to me ‘I wish I could get my family growing food, but I just don’t know where to start’.  This lit a spark in me.  I knew I had to create a business that would teach young people how to grow food and take care of the environment.  I knew it needed to be more than just a ‘how to guide’ for seed sowing. It needed to be practical, educational and fun. It needed to bring people together.  It needed to truly bring to life what growing food can do for yourself and the planet.  It needed to create a community of young food growers and little planet protectors.  So, Young Growers Club was born. The Young Growers Club is a chance for families, youth groups and schools to learn the ins and outs of growing their own food, while also understanding the importance of taking care of our planet
