Grow Green: Hands-on composting and soil workshop for families

As part of Composting Week UK 2024 Young Growers Club will be hosting a composting and soil focused event for families.

The foundations for successful food growing begin with healthy soil. When starting a food growing journey we must first understand soil and how we can take care of it. At this hands-on event the young growers will learn about healthy soil, about how to build a composter and will have a chance to prep a no-dig bed.

The event will be run by food growing educator Laura Mathurin…

And will be structured like this:

2:00 - Arrival

2:10 - Introduction to healthy soil

2:30 - Building a composter

3:00 - Prepping a no-dig bed

3:15 - Time to ask questions / explore the garden

Location: Luton (address specified on ticket booking)

As this is a physical event involving lifting and moving wood it is best suited to ages 5+. Children are advised to wear long sleeves and long trousers. The event will take place outside.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased here:
